Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of LexTap, an app for reading English texts and learning languages. By using LexTap, you agree to these terms. If you obtain LexTap through Apple's App Store, the end-user license agreement presented by Apple also applies to the licensed app; these Terms additionally govern your LexTap account and service use.

Using LexTap

You may use LexTap only if you are legally permitted to do so and able to agree to these Terms. If applicable law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you must have that permission. Provide accurate account information, keep your credentials secure, and remain responsible for activity through your account.

Use the service lawfully. Do not use LexTap for illegal content, infringe others' rights, circumvent access controls or usage limits, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or disrupt the service. Requests or access may be restricted where reasonably necessary to enforce limits, protect users, or protect the service.

Reading and Language Features

The LexTap catalog is intended to contain public-domain or otherwise permitted books provided for reading within the service. Copyright and public-domain status can differ by country, and catalog availability may change over time. Access does not grant ownership or permission to redistribute a book where such permission does not otherwise exist.

Automatic translations may contain errors or omit context. Pronunciation and text-to-speech output may also be inaccurate. These features are learning aids; verify important meanings independently.

Personal EPUBs

You retain whatever rights you hold in your personal content. You are responsible for having the rights or permission needed to upload, process, and read each EPUB you import. Do not upload unlawful or infringing content. You grant LexTap the limited permission needed to upload, store, parse, display, and otherwise process your EPUB to provide personal reading features and requested translations. Personal uploads are not added to the public catalog.

File size, format, archive safety, and processing restrictions apply. Some EPUBs, including encrypted or DRM-protected files, cannot be imported. Keep your own copies of files you need.

Free accounts can import one personal EPUB per calendar month and access up to three ready personal EPUBs at once. Premium allows all personal EPUBs to be accessed. When Premium expires, all uploads and progress remain stored, but only the three earliest-added existing ready EPUBs stay accessible. Reading activity does not change this selection. Other EPUBs remain visible and are unlocked by Premium. If an accessible EPUB is deleted, the next earliest-added existing ready EPUB becomes accessible.

The Free translation allowance resets 24 hours after it is first exhausted, including when a requested translation cannot fit the remaining allowance. Repeated blocked requests do not extend that deadline.

Premium Subscriptions

Premium is offered through monthly and yearly auto-renewable subscription options. On iOS, purchases and payments are handled through the Apple App Store. The localized price, subscription period, and any offer conditions are displayed before purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled through Apple's subscription controls under the conditions shown at purchase.

You can restore eligible purchases in LexTap and manage or cancel your Apple subscription in your Apple account's subscription settings. Canceling renewal normally leaves Premium available until the end of the paid subscription period, after which Premium access ends unless another verified entitlement applies. Refund requests are handled through Apple's refund mechanisms and applicable rules. Deleting the app, deleting a personal document, logging out, or requesting account deletion does not itself cancel an Apple subscription.

Subscription prices may vary by storefront and may change. Apple displays the applicable price before purchase and handles any notices, consent, or continued pricing required for changes under its rules and applicable law.

Premium provides an ad-free experience and removes the free plan's translation quota, monthly personal EPUB import quota, and three-book personal library access limit. Reasonable server-side safeguards against abuse, per-request text limits, and file safety limits still apply. Premium access depends on verification and the subscription's status and expiration.

Ownership

LexTap's software, design, branding, and service materials are owned by LexTap or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms and the applicable app license, no ownership rights are transferred to you. Rights in catalog books and personal uploads remain with their respective rights holders.

Availability and Changes

We may maintain, update, or change the service and its catalog. Network failures, maintenance, and third-party outages may make features temporarily unavailable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free translations, pronunciation, or file processing.

Account and Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your account in the app through Profile → Delete account → Delete permanently. Review the destructive confirmation before continuing. Once the service confirms deletion, your account, sessions, reading progress, personal document records, account usage history, and LexTap purchase and entitlement records are removed. The app signs out. This cannot be undone. File cleanup continues automatically, with retries if storage is unavailable. See our Privacy Policy for file cleanup and retained data details.

Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription or request a refund. Apple continues billing until the subscription is canceled through Apple's subscription controls. Please manage or cancel active subscriptions before deleting your account. You can still delete immediately without waiting for a subscription to expire. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, LexTap is provided as available, without guarantees of uninterrupted operation or accuracy. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, including reliance on automated translations or pronunciation. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date, subject to any notice or consent required by applicable law.
